Fashion Week Caravan Show
Fall Fashion Week in NYC!
Hello Everyone!
Where do I begin?!! I just got back from a week in New York where I walked the runway for Fashion Week...it was amazing! I guess I'll take it day by day and tell you about all the cool stuff that happened!
I started off the week by going to my first ever fitting for the Caravan fashion show sponsored by Style 360 and Elle.Com. The Designer was Claudine DeSola and she was the sweetest! Being the huge fashion fan that I am, walking into a big warehouse full of clothes, shoes and purses was like heaven! It was so much fun that my mom pretty much had to drag me out of there! I then headed off to the Scholastic News offices in Soho to do a magazine interview. My interview with the totally amazing Marie was only supposed to be 20 minutes but it lasted an hour!! It was so cool to do an interview for a magazine that I read all throughout my school years! I am so excited to see the interview in print!!
When it was all over... I... of course had to go shopping because Soho has some of the best shopping in all of NYC!
Tuesday morning rolled around...the day of the Caravan Fashion Show! I had to arrive at the Metropolotain Pavillian at 8 am for "2 hours of hair and make up!" It was such a cool process to watch...it was like totally organized chaos! Omar from Sebastian Hair Design in LA did my hair...he is basically a hair genius. There were cameras, lights and tons of interviews going on backstage. The group "Neon Trees" was playing live for the show...and they were just hanging backstage chillin with everyone. They are a really awesome group! After I was dressed in my BEAUTIFUL Claudine Desola dress, it was time for jewelry! My jewelry was provided by Ramon Singer. Many of you may know Ramona from The Real Housewives of New York! Her jewelry is absolutley stunning! Ramona could not have been nicer... we did interviews together on the red carpet which was basically one of those "unbelievably cool moments!" So after 2 and a half hours of prep...and a practice walk...I did my first walk down the longest runway in history...in New York City...in a real fashion show with professional models and other celebrities!!! AMAZING!! It was such a rush! Cameras flashing, music pounding, celebs in the front row! It went by way to fast! After all the models walked the encore walk... we were rushed to the red carpet for pictures and interviews. It is just like it looks on TV and in magazines...tons of lights flashing...reporters and photographers yelling your name so that you will smile for their pics and give them an interview. The incredible pop singer, Shantelle, was on the red carpet with me...you can see some of the photos from that event...and acually from the whole week on my facebook fan page...make sure to check them out!!!
And right after that, my mom, my publicist and I high tailed it out of there to get to my magazine interviews with J-14, M Magazine and Twist Magazine! The interviews for were great! Their offices are so cool!! All of the interviewers were so young and hip...and they asked so many FUN questions... like my most embarrasing moment... who my celebrity crush is! If you want to find out the answers... you will have to check out the magazines! The M Magazine article is already posted on line...the hard copies of each interview will be out in the next month or two.
Later that day I hosted an party at Planet Hollywood that was one of the most special events that I have ever been involved in...totally amazing. It was for the Garden of Dreams Foundation in NYC...affiliated with Madison Square Garden and the Make A Wish Foundation. It is a foundation that creates special events for terminally ill children and their families. I was honored to be asked to host the event for 15 very special kids that evening. It was such a great feeling to bring a smile to their faces. It was held in the VIP room at the Planet Hollywood located in the middle of Times Square. My single... "In The Mean Time"... was playing all throughout the restaturant which was so cool! The New York Press covered the event which made the kids feel so special. I took pictures with each and every family.. signed autographs... and then we all hung out and talked for a while! They were the sweetest kids and I hope to see them all again soon.
I was pretty tired after all the events that day...but, little did I know...there was a surprise waiting for me back at my hotel! The following day I was an invited "celebrity guest" at the Nanette Lepore fashion show. I knew she was sending over a dress for me to wear to her show, but when I arrived back to my hotel room... I found that Nanette had sent 7 dresses! I could not believe it! They were all so beautiful! I had no clue how I was going to pick just one...I wanted to wear all of them!!! I did figure out a way to wear at least "two" of the dresses though!
Since I was also scheduled to appear on the Pix Morning News Show on Wednesday morning....I wore one of Nanette's dresses on TV and did a quick change before heading over to her fashion show!! The TV interview was fantastic! We talked about my career, fashion week and of course "In The Mean Time" ! I sang "In The Meantime" live for the show...what an awesome experience!
I then headed over to the Nanette Lepore show. Oh. My. Gosh. When I arrived, there were cameras everywhere! I met up with Tiffany Thorton from the Disney show "Sonny With A Chance" and Broadway and TV star (Wicked and Pushing Up Daisies)...Kristin Chenoweth!! I mean...can you believe it...Kristin Chenoweth!!! I was a musical theatre major in school...and she was one of my idols...and she was actually complimenting me on my dress and inviting me into pictures with her for the press...AND waving and smiling into my mom's video camera!!! I felt like I was in a dream!!! We are all represented by the same publicity company in New York! We did interviews backstage, took pictures together for the incredibly large press corps that was positioned outside and inside the fashion show...lots of pictures... then I was escorted to the front row! It was seriously a dream come true. I got to talk to Nanette Lepore (who is from Youngstown, Ohio and has spent alot of time in Pittsburgh) herself before the show...she was so nice! And very calm! ha! There were sooooo many celebs at the show....Natasha Bedingfield, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Aida Turturro, Stanley Tucci andNatalie Morales were there! And there I was...sitting right there with them in the front row...you can see some great pics on facebook! The show itself was fantastic!
After all of my work was done... of course I did two of my favorite things...ate and went shopping!!! And believe me... I ate...dessert!! After eating healthy and working out like crazy for two months to fit into those size 2 dresses...I couldn't wait to head to the Brooklyn Diner and dig into a piece of "chocolate pudding pie!" And it was delicious! :)
I am now back to work in Nashville...I am kicking off the Pre Season at the Nashville Predators on September 23 and heading back to Pittsburgh to sing at the Pittsburgh Penguins September 28... and to sing at the Voices Carry benefit at Heinz Field again this year! I am also filming a story for WTAE TV and doing a guest coffee house on WDVE on Sept 27th...so tune in to both of those. I hope I see all my fans and friends at some of these events! I can't wait!
If you wait to see pics from NYC check them out on my website www.sarahmarince.com and my Facebook fanpage!

McCain / Palin Rally’s
Current mood: hopeful
Category: Music
Hey Everyone!
So I have not "blogged" in foreverrr...I NEED to get better at this!
I just got home from the John McCain rally in Toledo, Ohio. It was so fantastic, there were so many people who were just so pumped and ready to see John McCain. It was the coolest thing ever. SO much enery in the room.
I have been traveling around a lot recently performing for the McCain / Palin Campaign. I sing about a 30 minute set before either Sarah Palin or John McCain come onstage, and usually the anthem as well. I have performing at most of the Sarah Palin rally's lately...it's something I will never forget.
I have to say this has been the most amazing thing I have ever done. I honestly never realized how important voting is until now. I can not wait until November 4th. No matter who your voting for, it is just so important that you go out and do it.
During all of this traveling I have had the opportunity to go to some pretty neat cities! I have been to about 10 new cities so far! I was in St. Louis 2 weeks ago for the VP debate and that was C R A Z Y! SO much fun! I was in Lancaster PA yesterday, Toledo OH today, and Harrisburg PA on Tuesday. It's hard for me to remember everywhere I have been! I can't wait to do the Sarah Palin rally in Beaver PA on Thursday b/c it's near my house!
One of the coolest things is getting to actually meet Sarah Palin and John McCain, they are 2 of the coolest most down to earth people you will ever meet. Sarah Palin takes the time to meet with everyone and will talk to you like she has known you forever. John McCain is full of enery and is a really sweet guy! I have also met some of the coolest fans who come to the rally. Thank you to everyone who has waited in line after the rallys to meet me, I love looking at all of the pictures we take afterwards!
Wow...this blog is really long. Okay so I hope to see you at a rally soon!
Don't forget to VOTE!

Happy Holidays!
Current mood: blessed
I simply can not wait for Christmas. I am getting so excited. We normally have our tree up by now, but things a have crazy busy around here that we are just very late with putting it up. So today is the day! I hope I don't break any ornaments b/c that's what I usually do. So i'm going to be super careful this year!
I just got back from LA which was super fun. It's funny to see all the Christmas and Holiday decorations up with NO SNOW anywhere! But LA looked really pretty.
But the day before LA I was in NYC which DID have snow and was also decorated and all this decorated Christmas excitement made me write this blog!
I made some changes to my myspace today...I have a whole new bio, and I added pictures to my albums from my MacBook. My MacBook is pretty much the best thing I own right now, although I did get the Blackberry Storm and that is pretty cool too. So maybe you should check out my MacBook Pics! :)
I hope if you in the Pgh / Ohio area this month you come check out a Xmas show!!! I would LOVE that!! If you are there I will probably make you tell everyone in the audience what you asked for from Santa! I asked for Uggs. I hope Santa can pull some strings for me.
Well Merry Pre-Christmas everyone! I will be putting Christmas Season pics up soon, so stay tuned!
OH- and to everyone who stood in the ZERO degree weather at this years light up night, THANK YOU! It was cold- but it was fun... especially when I got to sing to Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Jeff Reed! ;)
Peace.

Current mood: adventurous
Category: Music
Hey Everyone!
I'm playing a really neat event tomorrow Saturday, May 2nd during the day in Pittsburgh at the Carnegie Science Center.
It's called Kites For Kids, and a non-profit called KidsVoice is putting it on.....It features kite-flying demonstrations and kids' activities, and live performances from me, Frank Cappelli and other singer / songwriters.
Kites For Kids is trying to get the whole Pittsburgh community to turn out, and to bring kite drawings so that they can reach their goal of getting 5,000 kites on display that day. The 5,000 kites represent the number of kids in Allegheny County helped each year by KidsVoice.
So PLEASE come out if you can, I would really love to see you there! I'm performing at 1:00pm!
XOXO

Oh Myyy...This past week was Crazy/Super Fun/Super Exciting & Super Busy! I have been waiting to blog about everything all weekend! Now if I can just get off Facebook, I can blog :)
I just got back to Nashville &I have a major case of what they call "The Mondays" ...I just want to sleep! We arrived back here at around 1 am..which is way past my bedtime.
Okay, I guess I will start from the beginning!
About two weeks ago I sang the National Anthem at the Pittsburgh Steelers game when they played the Buffalo Bills. We Won! Go Steelers. :) My brother, Chris, my sister, Lizzie and their best friend, Will came with us... and we got to play on the field and try on Superbowl rings, ahhhhh the rings were so pretty!
A few days later, I got the call to kick off the official 2009 NFL Kick Off Events in Pittsburgh... OMG - the set up downtown was out of this world! They had the coolest activities for everyone to participate in. Since I can't throw a football to save my life...I sang and cheered from the sidelines.
Later that night I sang the National Anthem at the Pirate Game...but it wasn't just any Pirate Game...It was Arnold Palmer's Birthday! He turned 80 and he is so cute! I had the chance to talk to him after I sang and he is just the sweetest man! Happy Birthday Arnold Palmer!!
This past Friday I had the what was probably the most rewarding show of my life. I performed for 800+ Middle Schoolers from Haine Middle School in Cranberry, PA for their "Anti- Bullying" Program. The entire day was dedicated to teaching the students that bullying in schools is not cool and it's not to be tolerated. I wish they would have had a program like this when I was in school, it's so important. I sang for 30 minutes and also talked to the kids about how I was bullied in school.. to always believe in yourself... and to never let anyone take away your dreams. On every song the kids got up and danced and sang along! They made me feel so great and it reminded me why kids are my favorite audience! On my very last song I got all the kids up and dancing and all of a sudden they rushed the stage! I LOVED it! I was completely lost in a crowd of students singing and dancing. I got some awesome video of the "stage rush"...I'll get it up ASAP :)
It was definitely the best day, so THANK YOU Haine Middle School!
I went directly from Cranberry Park to Heinz Field for the" Flight 93 Memorial Benefit Dinner." What a classy night! It was put together by former Steeler players, Rocky Bleier, Franco Harris and Jerome Bettis. I performed the National Anthem & God Bless The USA/Proud to be an American. I have sung Proud to be an American so many times, but that night the emotion in the room was so strong, due in part to the fact that some of the family members of the Flight 93 victims were in attendance. I can't imagine how hard that evening had to be for them...watching video of their loved ones. Governor Tom Ridge was there (He announced that night that he wants to be my manager hahaha), Sen. John Pippy (My best friends Dad), General Tommy Franks (He gave the funniest speech ever...I loved it) & Franco Harris (who once held an umbrella over my head when the skies opened up and poured on me during one of my shows...we bonded!!!)...you can check out the pictures from all of these awesome events on my myspace & facebook!
And that was my very busy last few weeks...now I'm back in my cute little Nashville apartment...
I head back into the recording studio tomorrow to lay down tracks on an incredible song...which you hopefully will be able to hear very soon ...so stay tuned!
Well, Law and Order SVU with Jesse McCartney (my future husband) just came on so I'm gonna wrap up this blog....Thank you to everyone who made this past week amazing!
I'm back in PA this weekend for the Y108 ThrillBilly Bash and the Pittsburgh Penguins game...SEE YOU THERE!
XOXO
Sarah
